A grand foundation stone laying ceremony for the Second Medical Comprehensive Building was held in Lanzhou University Second Hospital on Aug. 25th, 2012. Many distinguished guests were invited to attend this ceremony.
Nearly one thousand medical staff and honored guests from different social departments in Gansu province participated in the ceremony, including Mr. Zhong Zhaolong, who is the deputy director of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, vice provincial governor Hui Xian, vice chairman of Gansu province CPPCC Shizhen Zhang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in the Ministry of Health Supervision Bureau Linkang Li, Communist Party Sectary Hansong Wang, President of Lanzhou University Xuhong Zhou, Secretary-General of the Gansu Provincial Government Peiwen Li, The Gansu Provincial Government Deputy Secretary Zhengfeng Zhang, director of Health Department of Gansu Province and Communist Party Secretary Weizhong Liu, director of Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Department Wenqing Li, Communist Party secretary and deputy director of Gansu Provincial Department of Education Jie Sun, Communist Party Secretary and Director of the Construction Department of Gansu Province Hui Li, deputy director of Gansu Provincial Public Security Bureau Ruiqing Bai, Gansu Provincial People's Procuratorate Deputy Procurator Jiming Gao, vice president of Gansu Provincial Higher People's Court Ping Ma, deputy Director of the Gansu Provincial Department of Finance Zhijun Zhang, deputy director of Gansu Provincial Health Department Cun-wen Li, the full-time vice president of Gansu Provincial the Red Cross Yutang Li, one of Lanzhou Municipal Committee Lining Zhou and so on.
Mr. Yu-min Li, the president of Lanzhou University Second Hospital gave a speech at the ceremony. On behalf of Lanzhou University Second Hospital, President Li expressed his sincere gratitude to present leaders, distinguished guests, international friends and other friends supporting our hospital. He pointed out that the complicating Second Medical Comprehensive Building will be a milestone in the history of LUSH, meanwhile, this project will great benefit the China western citizens, who can get better medical service and minimize their burden in medical treatment. President Li also promises that the hospital would make sure the quality of this project so that let ordinary people feel comfortable while it could stand the test of time.
Mr. Xiaodong He, the vice president of Lanzhou University, addressed a speech at the ceremony. He opined that the breaking-ground medical comprehensive building marks a new era in Lanzhou University Second Hospital for which it will exert great influence on attracting medical talents all over the country. At the same time, with full enthusiasm, firm brief, earnest action and the space following the public hospital reform and increasing medical technology level, the citizens will have a better medical service in the future.
Mr. Weizhong Liu, the director of the Health Department in Gansu province, pointed out that Lanzhou University Second Hospital, as one of the important medical institution, sustains great responsibilities on medical emergency, disease prevention and health care, teaching and research. It is inevitable to set up this building for the real necessity of hospital, further more, it accommodates the development in the future.
The Second Medical Comprehensive Building, covering 124,000m2, is a large scale comprehensive building with teaching, medical service, research and inpatient service. It will enable the hospital to further improve infrastructure and strengthen hospital brand, and enhance core competitiveness by training of talents, optimizing the medical environment, improving service quality, creating beautiful surroundings, providing excellent equipment and technology and high quality service.
